CARD 9: MONEY BLOCKS
"I STRUGGLE WITH MONEY AND FLOW"
"I rarely experience financial flow or ease. There's always tension, scarcity, stress about money. I work hard but abundance doesn't come. I know it's not just practical - something deeper is blocked."
→ Likely related to first chakra, masculine/feminine balance
WHY HAVE PEOPLE EXPLORED THIS WORK…
The catalyst for transformation is often recognition - seeing your own pattern and thinking "yes, that's me." Below are some common life experiences that bring people to this work, drawn from the creator’s book, "Two Shores of Love" and 35+ years of Star Sapphire workshops.
These are examples, not an exhaustive list - masculine/feminine imbalance shows up in countless ways.
If any resonate, you're in the right place.
COMMON EXPERIENCES - RECOGNIZE ANY OF THESE?
Ideas & vision, struggling with giving form
Exhausted but can't stop pushing
Feel disconnected from my body
Feel profound loneliness & isolation
Money feels like constant struggle
Relationships repeat same patterns
Struggle to find partner, lasting love
Successful but unfulfilled
Paralyzed by fear of losing livelihood
If several resonate, you're not alone.
MY EXPERIENCE - NIV SHARMA
Founder, Hollow-Bamboo Innovations
"I CREATE BUSINESSES - WHY NOT MY SOUL'S WORK?"
"For five years, I nurtured visions for work bridging spirituality and science - idea after idea. Yet nothing was manifesting concretely. I was actively creating tech startups - clearly capable of bringing things into form. But for this work that mattered most? I felt stuck.
I'd developed both masculine (engineering, MBA, corporate) and feminine (meditation, intuition, creativity) capacities. I expected I could depend on both, together - to manifest this new work. Made sense. Right? No, I was wrong…
When I discovered Star Sapphire Energywork, I became aware of what might actually be going on: both energies present but not in harmonious dialog.
I am energized to bring this work to the USA because if just the book created shifts, imagine what the immersive retreat can do."
COMMON EXPERIENCES: PERSONAL WELL BEING
CARD 1: EXHAUSTION / BURNOUT
"I'M EXHAUSTED AND CAN'T STOP"
"I'm running on empty. I know I need to rest, but I can't seem to slow down. I keep pushing through - more strategy, better time management - but nothing sustainable changes. I'm depleted, resentful, and don't know how to access a different way of being."
→ More developed at doing, less available to receiving and rest
CARD 2: MEDITATION BLOCK
"MY MEDITATION FEELS STUCK - CAN’T GO DEEPER"
"I have been meditating for few years. The practice seemed to work well for me but lately I have noticed that I am not able to sink deep into it and relax. I would like to deepen my practice. What can I do? "
→ Different meditations support Masculine and Feminine sides - more developed in one type of meditation
CARD 3: DISCONNECT FROM BODY
"I FEEL DISCONNECTED FROM MY BODY"
"I have come to recognize that I prefer to live from my head - analyzing, planning, thinking, even loving. I seem to have lost connection to what my body is telling me. I am unable to detect signals of tiredness or discomfort. It is hard for me to express what I am feeling because there is a numbness as I try to feel”
→ More developed in thinking and analyzing, less available in feeling and embodiment
COMMON EXPERIENCES: LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS
CARD 7: NOT ABLE TO FIND A PARTNER
"I STRUGGLE TO FIND LASTING LOVE"
"I feel I am attractive and have a good job. I don’t seem to do well in love relationships. It is hard to be rejected. I go through so much sadness and loneliness. I would like to improve my connection with men (or women)"
→ Difficulty integrating masculine choice/action with feminine receptivity and vulnerability
CARD 5: JUDGEMENTS & NEED FOR INDEPENDENCE
"I FEEL SUPERIOR - OR - CONTROLLED"
"I see things more clearly than you do. You are too emotional. You can’t earn money by being so sensitive. You don’t know the world"
OR
“I have no space to do my own thing. Stop controlling me”
→ Inner dynamic of one energy asserting superiority and control reflecting in outer relationship
CARD 6: RELATIONSHIP STUCK
"WE KEEP REPEATING THE SAME PATTERNS"
"Ours was a case of opposites attract. But now my relationship feels stuck. I'm either doing everything or completely withdrawn. We've tried therapy, read the books, had the conversations. But the same dynamic keeps showing up. I feel such heaviness and lack of freedom. Money matters have become such a fight”
→ Inner imbalance, with economic roots, likely being mirrored in outer relationship
COMMON EXPERIENCES: WORK & MONEY
CARD 8: SUCCESS BUT STUCK
"I'M SUCCESSFUL BUT SOMETHING'S MISSING"
"On paper, I've achieved what I set out to achieve. But I feel stuck, unfulfilled, like there's a different calling I can't access. I'm being pulled toward new work but can't seem to make it real. My old capabilities don't translate to this new territory."
→ One way of working mastered, new way needed for fulfillment
CARD 10: SURVIVAL FEAR
"I AM PARALYZED BY FEAR OF LOSING LIVELIHOOD"
"I am a manager working in a tech firm, leading a team. Our company is rapidly deploying AI, and the layoffs have started. I have a family who depends on my salary, and jobs are few and far between. I sometimes feel paralyzed with fear about the uncertainty ahead"
→ Survival fear narrows possibilities - more developed in fear/ effort, less accessible in creative flow and trust
Don't see your exact experience here? Masculine / Feminine energy imbalance shows up uniquely in each person - these are just some examples.
Whatever brings you here, the Star Sapphire work meets you where you are.
WHY I AM BRINGING STAR SAPPHIRE TO THE USA
After 12 years at 3M (an innovative Fortune 200 multinational), and many years of leadership growth work - including 15 years of meditation practice - I thought I well understood leadership and creation. I had well-developed masculine achieving energies: engineering degree, MBA, corporate success, tech startups, business consulting. Through leadership experiences along with inner work, my feminine side had grown too - more flowing, creative, intuitive, receptive.
But here's what puzzled me: for five years, I'd been nurturing ideas and vision for new work that mattered deeply - work bridging the world of inner (spiritual) and outer (science). Idea after idea, vision after vision. Yet nothing was manifesting concretely. This made no sense. In the real world, I was actively creating tech startups and consulting with businesses - clearly capable of bringing things into form. But for this new work - work that mattered most? I expected to do this extremely well. Instead, I felt stuck. I didn't understand why.
I first experienced Star Sapphire Energywork in 2020 through a virtual taster session offered by the Europe team. Something resonated, but the timing wasn't right. In fall 2025, an inner call brought me back - this time through Sagarpriya DeLong's book "Two Shores of Love."
Reading it, I sensed what might be happening: my masculine and feminine energies were operating in silos. They were both present, both in flow - but not in dialog with each other.
As I worked with the book's exercises, real insights and subsequent shifts began. I learned something counterintuitive: I couldn't force harmony. I had to let these two energies first flow independently, be happy on their own, without pressure to integrate. Just awareness. Just relaxation.
The new work has started manifesting differently - not from driving or pushing, but more from relaxation and love. I sense my inner man is coming more happily now to support what wants to emerge, rather than forcing or controlling it. My inner woman has the space to express and create - to connect spirituality and science, the inner and outer - dots that analytical thinking alone might dismiss, but experience and intuition recognize. There is a quiet courage in trusting what emerges rather than forcing what's already validated or familiar. And when vision needs form - nonprofits to register, partnerships to build, systems to create - my inner man brings clarity, structure and action with focus. Both energies are essential - feminine to envision, masculine to manifest! Just like breath…in and out.
Friends who have experienced the full Star Sapphire retreat told me it was the most significant transformational work they have done - and these are people who have attended many retreats. If the book and taster created this much change, a 3-day immersive retreat with skilled facilitation must be profound!
That is when I reached out to the Star Sapphire team: would they bring this work to the USA for the first time?
A personal note from Niv Sharma
Founder, Hollow-Bamboo Innovations
This retreat is part of Hollow-Bamboo's mission to develop Integrated-Intelligence - bringing together mind, heart, and spirit for joyous living and wise leadership. Masculine / feminine balance and integration is foundational to this wholeness.
As I've experienced these shifts - and as friends have shared their transformations - I recognize how many leaders, innovators, and change-makers are facing this same puzzle. Brilliant, capable people who've done their inner work but still feel stuck. People who've developed either masculine and / or feminine qualities but haven't found integration.
This is especially urgent now. As we navigate AI safety & governance, community healing, and the leadership challenges of the AI age, we face a critical choice. AI is displacing human cognitive capacities - but it cannot replace integrated intelligence. We as humans must develop our other capacities, not in a siloed way, but as an integrated whole - mind, heart, and spirit working together.
Working with Safar, a Star Sapphire facilitator with 15+ years of experience across Europe, India, Japan and China, we're offering both an accessible virtual taster and two residential retreats this fall. This work by Star Sapphire has transformed the lives of hundreds across the world. Now it's coming to America - and I'm joining the September retreat alongside you.
The work meets you exactly where you are. Whether you're over- developed in one direction, just beginning to contact these energies, or have both relatively developed but not integrated - the facilitator helps you see your specific pattern and support natural healing.
Whatever your starting point, the destination is wholeness: the ability to live, relate, lead and create from your full capacities - intelligence of the mind, heart, and spirit integrated rather than fragmented.
This is the journey. Perhaps it is calling you too.

Frequently Asked Questions:
These questions arose from a touched space — from our April 2026 US Taster participants, and those standing at the threshold of this journey.
-
No prior experience is needed. This is gentle, deep, and transformative work that engages two bio-energies we all carry: the inner masculine (rational, active) and the inner feminine (intuitive, receptive).
Therapeutic approaches are used to "till the soil" — safely allowing inner imbalances to surface — while meditative practices allow the energies to heal and balance. It's a holistic process that opens real space for transformation: greater joy, vitality, healthier relationships, and work fulfillment.
In most people, these two energies are in conflict — kept there by conditioning, repression, or simply the pace of life. This shows up in our inner state and ripples into how we relate and work. The question is simply: are we ready to meet ourselves and begin the path toward wholeness?
Some natural reasons people hesitate:
The dormant side may feel deeply buried or unfamiliar
We've told ourselves we're functioning fine — and mostly believe it
We sense the imbalance but feel unequipped to face it — so fear steps in
You may be new to this work — but the work is not new. Many seekers have walked this path before you.
This work was created by a therapist and meditator, has been offered to thousands across the world over 35+ years, and carries real transformation stories.
-
We do not see this as a meditation vs. therapy conversation — it is about consciousness growth, so we can each live more fully and to our greater potential.
If meditation alone is getting you there, wonderful. And for most people — regardless of culture or background — there are layers of repressed emotions, energy, and conditionings in the subconscious that meditation alone may not always reach or take a very long time. Therapeutic approaches help "prepare the soil" so that meditative practice goes deeper and faster. The inner energies can then move, heal, and find balance — opening into a more joyous, centered, rooted state.
The creator of this method, Sagarpriya DeLong, worked with many experts and leaders. She was deeply inspired by Enlightened Mystic Osho, who spoke extensively about combining Eastern meditative traditions with Western therapeutic approaches. Many renowned therapists worked under his guidance to develop methods that bring both together.
While 40-50 years back these methods were used more extensively in the West, the world has changed significantly since. Human mind has become more complex and stressed and there is growing convergence towards a “global mind” less east vs. west - thanks to technology. At this unique time, with AI Age upon us - the need to grow human capacities beyond intellect is urgent, these methods have applicability for rapid acceleration of consciousness for every human across the globe.
-
This is one of the most common things people feel - and worth naming honestly: some degree of discomfort is there for everyone, not just you.
You are not alone. This experience is universal — the degree varies, the feeling doesn't.
It helps to remember: this imbalance is not a personal fault — it is a common human condition. So many people live their whole lives at half capacity — burnt out, exhausted, disconnected - and somehow living around the misery this creates . Coming here is an act of courage. You are choosing differently.
The space is safe, with expert facilitation. What is shared in the group stays there.
There is no pressure to expose what you're not ready for. Go at your own pace. Trust yourself.
No judgment — often the discomfort lives more inside us than others perceive. Use it as an opportunity: sit with it, meditate on it. It will ease.
As a seeker, you already know you are more than your thoughts, emotions, and conditionings. This is a chance to put that knowing into practice — and grow.
The aim is not so much how much you share, but more what you recognize and gain insight on for yourself. Honesty with yourself is what matters most.
-
Great question — and one that likely resonates with many.
I was born in India, grew up there, and have spent more than half my life in the US. My nieces and nephews were born and raised here. And I have personally experienced various therapeutic approaches combined with meditation — not as a concept, but as something I walked through myself to accelerate my own inner growth.
So this question is close to home.
What does "Eastern mind" and "Western mind" really mean?
Osho spoke beautifully about this. In his words:
"Whenever a religious mind is born, even in the West, it is Eastern. In Eckhart, in Boehme, the very quality of the mind is Eastern. And whenever a scientific mind is born in the East, it is bound to be Western. East and West are not geographical. West means the Aristotelian, and East means the non-Aristotelian. The Eastern mind is female — receptive. The Western mind is male — aggressive, logical. God can only be received; he can never be discovered or invented."
(Source: Osho, The Psychology of the Esoteric, #10, Q10)
A few things this opens up:
Eastern and Western minds are not determined by where you were born. They are qualities — of receptivity, of logic, of how we've been shaped to meet the world.
And here's what's true for many of us — especially seekers who grew up in the East and built our lives in the West: we've developed both, to different degrees perhaps. The rational, achieving, analytical — and the receptive, intuitive, meditative. We've had to. Our lives demanded it.
But developing both doesn't automatically mean they work harmoniously together.
Our minds carry cultural conditionings, personal and generational patterns, repressions and adaptations we made to survive and thrive across cultures. This complexity is real — and if anything, richer and more layered for those of us who have lived between worlds. Our children growing up here experience this too.
So will this retreat offer you benefit?
That's genuinely yours to feel into — no one else can answer it for you. What we can say: this work has brought real benefits to thousands across the world, through hundreds of workshops over 35+ years.
What the retreat works with, at its root, is exactly this split that Osho points to — between the active and the receptive, the logical and the intuitive, the masculine and the feminine within. The journey toward healing, wholeness, and the ability to draw on both freely.
For some, one side may be underdeveloped — perhaps never fully valued, encouraged or accessed. For others, one side dominates — overdeveloped through years of conditioning, ambition or survival. For others still, both are present but not yet working harmoniously, not yet in flow.
The invitation is to arrive at a place where both energies are available — naturally, fluidly — so you can draw on whichever is truly needed in any moment. An intelligent, present response to what life is asking. Rather than a fixed pattern, a habitual overdrive, or a reach for the one tool you know best.
And this capacity — to respond from wholeness rather than habit — is perhaps more critical now than ever. In the AI Age, when machines can out-think, out-calculate and out-produce us, our hearts, our spirits and our full humanity are the differentiator. That is what this work cultivates.
Not as philosophy. As direct, embodied experience.
Whether you grew up in Pune or Portland, whether you've meditated for thirty years or three — if these energies are not yet working harmoniously within you, there is something here for you.
The retreat doesn't ask you to believe anything. It simply invites you to experience — and see for yourself.
-
The human mind has grown more complex and stressed over recent decades. Personal anxiety, relationship strain and work instability are no longer exceptions — they tend to be the norm everywhere you look. And with the AI Age bringing profound disruption to human work, dignity and purpose, we are facing something deeper still: a crisis of identity for a civilization that has over-relied on intellect and logic — the very capacities now being displaced by machines.
There is a growing recognition — across cultures, generations and disciplines — that the mind alone cannot solve what the mind has created.
Osho saw this coming 40 to 50 years ago. He developed Active Meditations — integrating catharsis to release pent-up emotions — and brought Western therapeutic approaches together with Eastern meditative practice. The purpose: to till the soil of what has been repressed, so that meditation can go deeper and work quicker. In his words:
"I am the first person who uses therapy but whose interest is not therapy but meditation... The modern man has to be made as innocent as the ancient man, as simple, as natural. The therapist has to help him — but his work is only a preparation. It is not the end. The end part is going to be the meditation."
(Source: Osho, The Great Pilgrimage: From Here to Here, Talk #27)
He was a visionary — and ahead of his times. Since then, the convergence has only deepened. Jon Kabat-Zinn brought Eastern mindfulness into Western medicine, developing Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), now used in hundreds of medical centers worldwide. Jack Kornfield — trained as a Buddhist monk in Asia and holding a PhD in Clinical Psychology — has spent decades integrating both traditions. Tara Brach, psychologist and meditation teacher, has built her life's work on the same bridge. Mainstream therapy itself has evolved — Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy all draw on Eastern wisdom within Western psychological frameworks.
So how do therapeutic processes actually help?
Osho has spoken extensively about this, and it is an exhaustive field impossible to distill in one answer. However worthwhile to see how Osho explains it through the lens of the energy centers:
"Negative emotions — anger, hatred, jealousy — they have all been repressed. Those repressed emotions don't allow the energy to go up; they function like a rock: your passage is blocked. Encounter, Gestalt and therapies like that try to provoke what has been buried — so that it bubbles up, surfaces. The society has trained you to repress all that is negative and pretend all that is positive. To pretend the positive is false — hypocrisy. To repress the negative is dangerous; it is poisonous, it is poisoning your system."
"Once that center is relaxed, there arises a balance between the negative and the positive. And when the negative and positive are balanced, the passage is open — the energy can move higher."
(Source: Osho, Tantra Vision Vol. 2, Tantric Transformation #01)
Most mindfulness-based approaches work with awareness — observing the mind, creating distance from thought and emotion. Star Sapphire goes further. It works directly with the bio-energies themselves — the inner masculine and inner feminine — through embodied, lived experience. Connecting, expressing, allowing them to heal and move towards balance in a deep field of meditative presence.
That is a different order of transformation.
The scale of this need is impossible to ignore anymore. More than one billion people worldwide are now living with mental & emotional health conditions — over one in seven people globally. Behind that number are real lives — relationships fractured, creativity dimmed, purpose lost, people moving through their days carrying weight they cannot name. Depression and anxiety alone cost the world an estimated $1 trillion in lost productivity every year — but the human cost runs deeper still: the quiet suffering, the disconnection, the sense that something essential is missing and no one is talking about it. At the same time, therapy is becoming less stigmatized and more sought after — with 68% of US therapists reporting a rise in first-time seekers — and younger generations actively pursuing inner work as a priority, not a last resort.
The world is waking up to what Osho saw decades ago — that healing requires going deeper than thought. That is precisely the ground this work was built for. And that is precisely why we are bringing Star Sapphire to the USA — for the first time — now.
